Obscure People of the Bible/Free Will

March 21, 2009

For the Sundays in Lent that I am preaching, I have/ and will be doing first person monologues of obscure people in the Bible.

As I am sure most people know, the Bible is full of all kinds of people that have or perhaps haven’t been touched in some way by the power of God. Some folks had full conversion experiences, some, ah, not so much.

This to me once again illustrates the fact that God offers us presence, peace, and grace, but, we have the free will not to pay any attention to it.

Our greatest gift is free will.   But it is in our choices that our trust, faith, and love for God is evident.  We can do good, or we can do evil.  We can create or we can destroy. We can love, we can hate. We can give, we can take. We can build up, we can tear down.

So, what will our choice be today?
